Courses are held on a regular basis, with most courses repeating two or thee times in each academic year. Usual start dates are January or February, April or May and September or October.

Normal hours for evening courses are from 6.30pm until 8.30 or 9.00pm.

Day-time courses are also held throughout the year. During the summer, we hold a four week Summer School, which provides a very detailed overview of News & Features journalism. This is an ideal course for those who are trying to decide if journalism is the right career for them.

Students attend courses at our premises in Maida Vale. 15 minutes' walk (or two tube stops) from Paddington Station, which is at the heart of London's public transport system. The canals of Little Venice are a few minutes' walk from the School, as are the cafes, bars and restaurants for which Little Venice is well-known.

The School buildings, situated in a private courtyard, were originally a pair of Victorian mews houses. Later they became a coal merchant's and a dairy yard.

The computer room in the main building is available to students throughout the day (and most evenings) for the preparation of their work, researching via the internet - or just checking email.

Each computer has unrestricted internet access. The School computer network may be accessed by WiFi enabled laptops (please ask the office if you need assistance with WiFi settings).

The London School of Journalism has been teaching news journalism and freelance journalism for three generations, and continues to lead the way in the development of teaching methods which produce successful results for our students. You can read some of the things people have said about our students here.

The London School of Journalism also provides a wide range of distance learning courses, covering all aspects of news journalism, freelance and feature writing and creative writing.
